Windsurfing exercised in the following categories; Slalom, Freestyle, Slalom Course, Speed Sailing & Wave.
Within each category used windsurfing sail and windsurf boards are specially designed and intended for different wave and wind conditions. Some of the major manufacturers in the sport is Neilpryde, Gaastra, Sail Works, Bic, Mistral.
Category Wave is not for the beginner, but require extensive experience both in sailing and water habit. It is not unusual for windsurfing / wave surfing is performed in winds exceeding 20-25 m / second (storm).
This you should consider before you head out on the water;
Have you rigged the right relative to wind speed? If possible, measure the wind speed with an anemometer - objectively is how strong the wind is in gusts - choose sails after this!
Which forecast comes the next 10 hours? Should the wind subside, increase? (Windfinder)
Was there any basis?
Fill out the liquid before you head out - drink plenty of water.
Check mastbox, fenbox and ropes so everything is brand.
Warm up - before building muscle strains
Set the harness and bomhöjden
Set foot straps (if necessary)
At windsurfing in rough weather - huh several pieces - keep track of each other
Use lifejacket
Sail not too close
The speed record for windsurfing is measured at over 52 knots, ie about 100 Km / h.
